Ellie Black is a cartoonist based in Brooklyn. Their work has appeared in The New Yorker, Alta, Nashville Review, and more. Their card game Someone Has Died is now in print through Chronicle Books. In 2019, they designed and illustrated a comic book for the musician mxmtoon in two weeks. They have a bunch more comics they don't know what to do with. Maybe you want to see them?!

 

Ellie is also a video editor and film educator by day. They TA'ed for five film courses at their alma mater, Wesleyan University, and served as the school's first Social Media Fellow in 2018. They taught film, animation, and game design at The Putney School Summer Programs between 2016 and 2019. Ellie has been a video editor at Hearst Media for five years (yikes). They are unsure whether the third person was the right choice for their bio. They're gonna switch to second person for the conclusion, okay? Make sure you're prepared.
